For the 3rd time, Central European Startup Awards 2016 (hereinafter CESA), one of the four existing regions of the Hungarian co-founded Global Startup Awards has announced this year’s national winners of the Hungarian startup ecosystem, in 12 categories.

The event itself took place at Mosaik startup hub and coworking place on 27th October, attracting over 300 participants, organized by flying dutchman Remco Veenenberg from team city.ai, as the Country Partner of CESA for Hungary.

CESA, the largest no-pitch, no-conference startup ecosystem happening of the region takes place annually in 10 CEE countries: Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Hungary, Serbia, Slovenia, Croatia, Romania and Bulgaria, with the mission statement of helping the CEE countries’ startup ecosystems get better connected with each other, by bringing their people physically together for the 10 national finals, then the regional ‘Grand Finale’, which latter one being organized in a different country of the region each year, this time on 1st December in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

CESA 2016 edition has been sponsored regionally by GE, SAP, Infobip, CEU Business School, MITO, White-Summers, IBM / Arrow ECS, Enbritely, Statzup and many more.

The Hungarian National Final was supported by city.ai, Mosaik, Everengine, Chivas, InVendor and SocialFokus.

National winners from all the 10 participating countries will be judged by the regional jury board consist of over 50 globally recognized individuals, some of them will also attend the Grand Finale, so competitors will have the chance for meeting them in person.

The regional winners of some of the selected categories will be invited to the Global Startup Awards Grand Finale next year. This year it’s organized in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 9th December 2016, where the winners from last year are invited and their whole trip is paid.
