Inspiration, networking, awesomeness. These were the headlines of the Shift Conference being held in Croatia, Split on May 22-24, 2013. It was such a great honor to join the initiative as a speaker and a judge of the startup competition. The event was held in  in the very heart of the beautiful  town, at the Art Gallery as well as in the antique substructures of The Diocletian Palace.

The motivation behind organizing the event was to bring regional and international tech startups, investors and journalists to the historic Split, Croatia, and  create an amazing atmosphere among them to facilitate the networking and create value for all the participants. The organizer putted great emphasis on mentoring and coaching as all the 32 competing startups were gathered on Wednesday with outstanding local and regional mentors to have a one day long session in order to get them ready for the “semi final” that was held on the first day of the conference.

The organizers offered a 10.000-dollar price for the Shift challenge beside valuable services and other gifts, and the honest feedback on the ideas the companies presented.

So altogether we had a great time through the three days of lecturing, pitching , partying and recovering 🙂

The organizers were Procedo and Profico supported by VIP, Splitska Banka, Microsoft in cooperation with Technology Transfer Office, BICRO, European Enterprise Network (EEN), the Split-Dalmatia County Tourist Board, Croatian Chamber of Economy, CISEx and the City of Split.
